Port of Los Angeles
The Port of Los Angeles is located
in the San Pedro Bay at the southernmost point of Los Angeles County, approximately
20 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean,
the San Pedro Bay has a long history of maritime activity and is home to the World
Cruise Center. Cruise ships from all over the world embark to the Mexican Riviera,
South America, Asia and the South Pacific.
Pacific Cruise Ship Terminals, one of
the Nautilus companies, is responsible for operating the World Cruise Terminal,
managing arriving and departing cruise guests. The facility is capable of berthing
three large cruise ships simultaneously. The cruise terminals are continuously upgraded
to provide comfortable and efficient processing for discriminating passengers.
